T Level in Media, Broadcast and Production

The T Level in Media, Broadcast and Production is  a two-year course that combines classroom learning with practical experience. It’s designed to prepare students for careers in the media, broadcast, and production industries. The course covers core content such as creative economy, cultural context, and audience needs. Students will also complete at least one module of occupation-specific content.  Students will complete at least 315 hours of work experience with an employer.

A face to face interview for your place on a course where you should be polite and informed on why you want to enter this industry.

Turn up on time and be ready to learn. Have  100% attendance and  play an active role in the group, helping others with productions.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have at least five at GCSE, at 4 and above to include a 5 in English. They should also have a genuine interest in working in the media, broadcast, and production sector. 

Assessment

The course is assessed through exams, a portfolio, and work experience. Students will be observed in practice twice in their first year and once in their second year. 

Content

The course covers core content such as creative economy, cultural context, and audience needs. Students will also complete at least one module of occupation-specific content. 

Work experience

Students will complete at least 315 hours of work experience with an employer. 

Progression

Students can progress into the media sector or continue their studies at a higher level.

Some possible job roles include studio sound engineer, audio-visual technician, TV or film production assistant, and the Creative Industries.
