Our courses are delivered in the mornings, afternoons and evenings.

GCSE English is 3 hours per week. You will study 19th Century fiction extract and imaginative writing as well as 20th and 21st Century non-fiction. You will also complete a spoken language endorsement presentation, which is assessed as an additional qualification. For GCSE English, we offer courses with a range of delivery modes such as face-to-face, remote (online) learning and blended learning which is a combination of face-to-face and remote.

Functional Skills English courses are for 2.5 hours per week and will cover reading skills, writing skills, spelling and punctuation. Teaching will be delivered in the context of skills needed for everyday life and the workplace such as letter writing and form filling.

We also have a fast-track Functional Skills Level 1 and Level 2 course for those already confident with their English skills, and want to gain a qualification at a quicker pace for the needs of a higher level course or apprenticeship. These courses are 5 hours per week (2.5 hours x 2 days).
